Quite Q-Some

We began letter Q week with our regular routine... tracing, Q video and then some "quick" activities!
We made some "quicksand" and played in it for a while. Ronan didn't like it at first, but after we pretended to save his animals from the quicksand he eventually had fun.

On Tuesday we did some tracing and then letter Q/q matching. We recalled the story about Queen Esther from our E week and then played a queen crown counting game. After rolling all the numbers and covering them with a gem (M&M) we enjoyed eating them. Later we pretended to be Queens (and Kings) ourselves.

On Wednesday we practiced Q-tip math and counting. Kieryn is getting very good at writing her numbers!

Then we did Q-tip and quill painting...

and spent some time out in the snow.

On Wednesday for lunch we enjoyed some Queso. The kids enjoyed experimenting with their foods to see which item tasted the best.

That afternoon we did some quinoa play. Wow was this stuff messy! I don't think we'll do that again... but the kids sure did have fun!

On Thursday we did some tracing and then spent time practicing (role play) how to handle quarrels. We talked about quieting the quarrels! We discussed how to react if someone was mean or upset and practiced being slow to anger and "quick" to listen and show kindness. This was the kids' favorite activity of the week. They asked to practice quarreling multiple times... mostly because it was fun for them to have Grandma help with the practice. Thanks again for your help Grandma!

Then outside again!

We had snow cones with the fresh snow! So yummy!

Here's what I've been working on... Kieryn was so excited when her scarf was done! This was how she first decided to sport it around...Now I am working on Ronan's.

On Friday did a quarter Q and practiced some patterns before gluing squares onto our quilt.

Such a fun week! We were excited to have quesadillas and hang with Daddy on Saturday. We went sledding and played snow tag!

Having a blast! Until next week...

We both enjoyed your blog update. Dale was interested in the "q" foods; and I thought the crochet scarf looked great on the dinosaur!
    Until next week:)
