Week #2 - We're getting into a routine!

The big kids said they would like to see what the morning plans are each day, so I gave them a quick run-down each morning of our activities using my big white board.

Alexis had fun learning about letter Y this week. We began Monday talking about "My Body" and finding different body parts on her and looking in the mirror at them. Then Kieryn helped us sing "Head & Shoulders, Knees & Toes."

We did a water color painting with her name on it.

Our activity time was a dice workout!

On Tuesday Alexis started her "Y-lesson" with some yarn sewing...

And all kids had fun doing a yarn painting...

We awoke on Wednesday morning to a note in our window that we'd been "egged"! The kids had a blast finding Easter eggs that were hid in our yard by secret friends! The big kids had fun helping me the next day get some eggs ready to egg our neighbor, their friends Hunter & Sophia! It was a really fun idea to pass on to other families in our neighborhood!

We started our Wednesday "school" with a bible lesson about being a servant and having a servant heart. The kids were very receptive to this! Then we followed it with some yoga!

Later Alexis did a "yellow" match...

And then went on a "yellow hunt". She found lots of things in our house that were yellow!

That afternoon we had fun making our own car wash. The van was first...

followed by every bike, scooter, and riding toy we had in the garage!

They really had fun with this as they'd worked hard the day before making sidewalk chalk roads all over our driveway and circle! It seemed like a "real"car wash as they had to drive their vehicle up to the sprayer and wait in line, just like at the car wash we sometimes go to!

On Thursday Alexis tried some name practice...

I had to help a lot because the concept of stacking the letters was new for her. In the end it turned into tower building. :)

Playdough fun!

While Alexis was napping I had the big kids make a marble run...

On Friday we had PJ day and were in pjs all day!

We had yogurt for breakfast for letter Y week!

Alexis started her lesson with the alphabet song... and some jumping on this fun alphabet blanket. It was mine when I was a kid.

The big kids wanted to join.

Then we did the "yummy or yucky" test. The yellow one was the only yucky! Can you guess all these items? Alexis liked this game!

Then we had fun making yarn bugs!

For activity time we set up a ninja warrior course in the basement. There was jumping, crawling over and under obstacles, balance, and rolling! The kids had so much fun! Later they rearranged things and created their own course!

After lunch we made banana muffins. Everyone helped with banana smashing!

On Saturday afternoon we made signs to greet the teachers at the Woodrow Wilson's teacher parade! Ronan didn't want to hold his sign... the kids really enjoyed seeing all the teachers!

Until next time!
