Letter Q!

We began the week with some sick kiddos... Kieryn spent most of the day on the couch and Ronan wanted to be held... so it was a book and movie day... sometimes much needed!

By the afternoon on Tuesday Kieryn was feeling a little better and wanted to start our letter of the week so we did a Q/q quilt and read the letter q book.

Ronan's new favorite book as of the past 2-3 weeks is the Thomas book... he even sleeps with it!

We also did Q-tip gluing and q-tip painting...

On Wednesday we did Queen letter tracing, made a queen crown, and of course, sang Queen Elsa's "Let It Go"!

We did an Ash Wednesday lesson at home on Wednesday because none of the mass times worked for all of us to go together. The kids loved it!

On Thursday morning we did a queen crown dice game, talked about quieting quarrels, did a "q' sound worksheet and then a quarter toss. The kids loved the quarter toss!

Over the weekend I attended a fitness conference in Philly. While I was gone, Grandmom and Grandpop Copp stayed with Steven and the kids. They had lots of fun playing, reading, and visiting Bass Pro! Thank you Grandmom and Grandpop for all your help! We love you!!

So much LOVE!!

We took a break from the alphabet this week to enjoy Valentine's Day (week). We began the week by making some heart decorations for the windows... they first colored the coffee filters with marker and then we sprayed them with water and let them dry. The colors all ran together, made pretty hearts!

Later that day we made festive Val's slime... this didn't turn out the best so we eventually got out the play dough.

On Tuesday we made Lovebug hats and wore them lots throughout the week (you'll see in later pics - Kieryn loved them!)

We even made Daddy one and had a Lovebug dance party when he got home!

after the dance party, Kieryn decided to put on her "wrestling outfit"...

When things calmed down, we did color sorting with candy hearts...

And a spoon relay. Kieryn was much to fast for any pic to turn out.

On Wednesday morning we did a quick heart painting using paper towel rolls for stamping...

And then attended Kieryn's Val's party at school.

Ronan even got in on some of the fun!

On Thursday we did heart number matching and heart hopping...

and that night we did a dice/counting game - drawing a lovebug!

Kieryn loved it and wanted to play several times.

On Friday morning we played with the shapes... practice with patterns and building things using shapes.

That night we had our family Val's Day celebration. The kids gave Daddy their valentines...

and then the kids went on a scavenger hunt to find our valentines for them.

Over the weekend we got to spend time with the Copp and Caywood families. The kids had a blast together! They got to make heart shaped pizzas for Valentine's Day...

And then they got to do a scavenger hunt together... Aunt Janell was so good with the clues!

These kiddos have so much fun together!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Positively Perfect Week

We began "P" week with pancakes and pineapple...

and some letter "P" color/search worksheets.

On Tuesday we did bean sensory play...

pom painting...

and a Princess & Prince picnic!

With pudding for dessert!

Later that afternoon I surprised Kieryn with a new puzzle!

Ronan is getting very good at the alphabet puzzle. He matched all these himself!

That night the kids helped me make petite pot pies...

with a Panda bear dessert that we all shared!

On Wednesday morning we tried peach muffins and prunes for breakfast... prunes were not liked very well.

While Kieryn was at school, Ronan and I played more with the poms. He was good at matching all the colors to the correct cup.

That afternoon we played pirates!

and prepared pepperoni pizza for our pirate party! Kieryn loved this!

We even had petite peach pies for dessert!

There was lots of pirate play after supper!

On Thursday morning we tried some patterning with beads. Ronan got to practice with large noodles instead... he still likes to eat everything!

Then we did a prayer exercise. We practiced writing letter p and then we repeated our baking soda/vinegar activity.

This was to demonstrate how excited God gets when we pray. So Ronan and Kieryn took turns saying a prayer and then spraying the vinegar to see how excited God got (the baking soda bubbled and fizzed). The kids loved it!!

That night we made pretzel bread and had tuna patties! The kids actually liked it!

On Friday we did a pizza counting game and did our letter hunt. Kieryn found lots of good things...

pink bracelet, pen, percy, puzzle, and a pirate sword!

Until next time!
