Fair Week - Fun First Year of 4-H

We had to stop our bike ride early in the week and take a picture of this van. It has a picture of our house on it (before Steven took off the porch railings)! This was the company who painted our house last summer. They had asked to use our house as advertisement on their van and we'd agreed but never saw got to see the final product. It was fun to spot it in a driveway up the road. They were painting another house in our neighborhood!

This was fair week! The kids loved bringing their projects for judging!

We enjoyed hearing the feedback from the judges. Now we know what to improve on for next year!

Ronan could only enter one project item as a cloverbud but next year he will be able to enter multiple. He was happy with is rainbow cloverbud ribbon. All cloverbuds get these. They are not allowed to compete with the older kids just yet.

Kieryn earned two blue ribbons on her photos! She was very happy with that!

We had fun at the pool this week too! A few times we were the only ones there... surprising, but still fun!

On Friday Kieryn had her final fair judging. Her judge was very good and gave lots of good feedback!

She got a purple ribbon on it and was very proud of her efforts. Purple is hard to come by when it's your first year, so we were very pleased!

AND Ronan finally lost his first tooth! He pulled it out with some floss. His plan was to tie it to a door and close the door.... once we had him all tied up he forgot his plan and said he wanted to see what the string looked like tied to his tooth... he turned his head quickly to go to the mirror and his tooth came out... he was very surprised, but happy that it was out! He says he has another loose one to get out soon!

I had to capture Alexis taking care of Maddie and Toby. She takes them for a brief walk in the house, unprompted, every day. It's usually right after she eats lunch or dinner... or if she is bored... she gets the leashes down herself, hooks them up herself, and drags them around the house. When she feels it's been a sufficient walk (usually less than 5 minutes), she treats them with a dog treat all by herself... she loves them so much and I think enjoys being a big kids!

That's it for this week! Until next time!

Not a lot going on this week...

After such a busy start to July we were grateful for a slower week, full of relaxing, play dates, swimming, and snuggles! Not a lot of pics... but we kept busy 😉.

Until next time!

Just like that we have a 9 year old

The big kids had fun helping some other 4-Hers with the Fair Banner this week. We have two more weeks to work on our fair projects before we have to turn them in for judging. Kieryn is submitting a lego creation and a photo. Ronan is doing a lego creation.

On Wednesday the kids enjoyed their last 4-H virtual stem session. They learned about bees and got to look closely at flowers with their new pocket microscopes. They loved it!

Alexis had fun with the new velcro food she got from the Parents As Teachers Program. She loves pretending to cut and make food.

We had fun in sprinklers one evening this week.

On Thursday we started Kieryn's birthday with donuts and turkey sausages per request. Then we began getting things ready for her party at the neighborhood pool...

Steven took Kieryn to pick out her new bike! She was so happy!!

And we had a special birthday lunch.

The pool party was a hit! Kieryn had a wonderful day!

Because friends not in our neighborhood were not allowed to join us at the pool, we did a separate party with school/church friends at our house on Friday. The girls played barbies almost the entire time!

It was fun doing Kieryn's cake!

On Saturday we had fun at a small playground while the big kids were at their golf session. Maddie really enjoyed the kiddie slide too!

34 weeks along with baby #4.... just 6 short weeks or less to go! We are so excited to meet him!

We had a great time with the virtual VBS this week too!!

Until next time!
