We Had Fun Snow This Week!

We woke up on Monday morning expecting between 4-8 inches of snow... but there was not even a flurry in the air.... thankfully, for the kids' sake, it began snowing later that morning so by early afternoon we had some fun snow to play in! We had a fun school routine this week - school, outside snow play-school- lunch- outside snow play-school-outside snow play- evening dinner. Our school days were broken up nicely for me and for the kids!

Alexis learned about letter p this week and the big kids finished up week 22 of homeschool!

We had fun making a pasta pie and playing in our pasta again this week...

Little letter p snack... pretzles and peanutbutter.

We also made a pig using number recognition 10-15. Alexis did great gluing the pieces in the correct spots!

On Tuesday we started our letter P lesson with a P hunt...

Alexis even found a "p" on her shirt! :)

pom painting...

fun making a name porcupine...

Snuggled up while doing homeschool online math... this is the life!

Kieryn's cursive is really looking good!

On Wednesday we played a lot of Paw Patrol...

and we made a shape pizza...

put together a princess and puppy puzzle

Toby is a great heater after being out in the cold!

Later for our "move it" time we did stations.... one station was a pillow fight...

one was a paper plate relay using air to push the balloon around the kitchen island...

and the third station was a paper plane "P" hit and run....

Tyson even had fun outside on Wednesday... the temperature was a bit warmer at one point so we joined the kids outside to watch the sledding!

Alexis had pizza and pineapple for her dinner night!

On Thursday we practiced tracing and then had fun watching each other's popsicle stick puppet shows!

We ended our day on Thursday with some fun science. It just so happened that we had to push pencils through a full bag of water! Perfect for letter P week too! Surprisingly, the bags didn't leak!

Tyson is growing bigger each day! Last weekend I updated is drawers with 6-9 month clothing and by the end of  this week I am already seeing that some of them are already too small! I can't keep up with this kid, he's growing up to fast!

Until next time...

Fun week in Jan!

Look who's finally taking a bottle! Tyson was fully bottle feeding all last week. Such a stress relief for Mom!

Alexis learned about letter O this week!

We started our lesson on Monday with tracing...

Color and animal matching...

and number order!

We had fun reading time...

And then Alexis did some painting while the big kids finished up their school lessons...

We watched a video about Martin Luther King Jr. and then did a few fun worksheets about him.

On Tuesday we did a fun "O" craft and made an owl...

We did some matching...

And talked about opposites...

For our "move it" time we had an obstacle course. One obstacle were hurdles, in which you had to run or hop "over" them!

All kids had fun "bopping the balloons"!

Then we watched an art lesson about light sources and shading...

Also on Tuesday, Tyson turned 5 months old! WOW! Time has really flown! This little guy has been a wonderful addition to our family. He's so happy-go-lucky and loves being snuggled. His favorite place to be is...where ever the most action is! We all love him so much...

On Wednesday we had fun talking about the ocean and making an "O" octopus.

It was nice enough to go outside so the kids had fun playing in the dirt!

On Thursday we used cheerios to practice some counting and number recognition...

Tyson thought it was so funny...

We talked a bit about long and short "o" sounds...

And we practiced more with "order." This time instead of number order, we practiced her name and letter order.

For our move it we had fun bowling! For each pin that was knocked down you got to do an exercise! We did squats, jacks, jumps, ninja kicks, push ups, summersaults, etc. They really loved it!

Friday, as it has become, is our relaxing day. We talk about current events, play games, and have treats for all our hard work at school. We even watch a movie... this week was Finding Dory because there's an octopus in it!

Saturday was a cold and cloudy day so the kids had a blast  playing inside... they did kinex, a Barbie talent show, and lots of pretending!

It was a wonderful week! Until next time!
