Unbelieveable Week!

We began letter u week with a letter u review, book, quick video, and a color match sheet. The kids also had to trace their names.

On Tuesday we did umbrellas...tracing, shape match, and a coloring activity.

On Wednesday we made upside-down cake. The kids actually liked it, I was surprised!

... and played playdough!

On Thursday we practiced short and long u sounds. First a unicorn puzzle...

then an umpire ball count...

and two sheets to pick out short and long sounds. Kieryn did very well with this!

We ended the lesson with an underwater craft with some animals that live under the water!
Kieryn had to trace, cut and glue. Ronan just helped with the gluing part.

Friday was busy as we went to gymnastics in the morning and then straight to Chocolate World with some friends. Kieryn and Callen are such good friends. Super cute!!

After the ride we got some treats...

Then that night we made a special card and surprise "snack" gift package for Daddy before he left for his conference. I was so impressed with Kieryn. I was doing dishes and she asked me how to spell Daddy's real name. So, I spelled it slowly and she wrote each letter... backward, but totally on her own with NO TRACING! I had to take a pic! Then she tried again underneath to write it left to right, again, with no tracing. I was shocked!!

Until next time...

HE IS RISEN!

We took a break from the alphabet this week to talk about Easter! It was time to put up the Easter decorations, so what better way than to talk about Easter too!
We began by putting up window clings and making a prayer chain. The prayer chain will help us remember the number of days left until Easter. Each day we tear off a loop and pray for someone in our family or one of our friends. The kids really like this!

On Tuesday, Kieryn practiced her cutting skills and we made a little booklet about the Easter story. Ronan practiced his coloring. He really likes to color!

Then we got on the floor for some counting practice using carrots.

Kieryn did hers all by herself! I was very impressed!

Tuesday was a little warmer so we ventured outside for a while. The kids can't wait for summer... both wanted to practice their casting skills, so we got down the fishing poles!

That night we ate Easter pasta with bunnies and eggs. It turned into the kids playing with the bunnies and making them talk to one another and hop.

After supper we did a jelly bean prayer.

On Wednesday, we began the morning with Resurrection eggs. Each egg told a part of the Easter story, complete with a sweet treat in the final egg to symbolize how sweet it is that Jesus rose from the dead and is alive!

Then we practiced putting chicks and bunnies in the correct size pattern, biggest to smallest and vice/versa.

Kieryn did some patterning, while Ronan practiced coloring some more!

That night we went to Chocolate World!

And Kieryn practiced her alphabet egg match.

On Thursday morning we turned on some music and did the bunny hop with an egg shape match game...

They had to match the shape on the egg and then match the shape to the correct Easter basket... all while doing the bunny hop!

Later that morning we had our friends over for a play date! For dessert we did a peep experiment and watched them "grow' in the microwave! What a mess, but so fun!

On Friday we revisited the jellybean prayer, the resurrection eggs, and then talked about where Jesus went after he rose from the dead...

Then on Saturday morning we ate bunny cinnamon roles! What a sugar filled week, but lots of fun... and I feel like there was lots of learning!

Later on Saturday we went back to Chocolate World. We hadn't been in months and now Kieryn has been begging to go every day! We've been 4 times in the past 2 weeks!

On to the alphabet! Have a great week!

Teriffic Week!

We began "T" week with trains, lots and lots of TRAINS! We made a train track and chugged on it, we matched train colors to correct tenders, and we practiced counting!

On Tuesday we talked about transportation and things that go! We read a few books, worked on patterns, and sorting.

On Wednesday we practiced putting tigers and turtles in order from biggest to smallest and vice versa. We also talked about time and did a number match. Kieryn could set the clock to "o'clock" times by the end! She is such a sponge!

On Thursday we practiced tracing letter T and then made a tent with a tunnel!

Later we did toothbrush painting....

and some triangle play.

On Friday, Kieryn dressed in her tutu and tiara for our game of "pin the tutu on the ballerina.

We finished the week with a letter T hunt! Both kids got into it!

towel, truck, trains, tiger, Thomas; oh my!

Had to add the pic of Kieryn... she planted herself in front of the TV one night with a bag of chips! I promise this is not a regular thing! :) So funny!

Until next time...
