Kieryn's Surprise!

Kieryn was very happy to see that her red chair had magically transformed into an amazing Wildcat chair in a matter of about two days... I found this child-size lawn chair on a yard sale for about $0.50. I spent another $1.00 on the primer and white exterior paint that I found at another yard sale. I already had the rest of the materials... so all in all, I feel this was money well spent and a successful craft project! Kieryn really loves it and she knows what we're talking about when we tell her to sit in her "Wildcat chair." She picks out the Wildcat with no problem!

Grandpa & Grandma Haug visited over the weekend. There was no football game so they were able to play and enjoy their visit with Kieryn. Grandpa helped her draw and color some pictures...

While they were babysitting, Steven and I were able to enjoy a special dinner with friends... a celebration of a pregnancy - CARRIE & RYAN ARE HAVING A BABY!! We are super excited for them and wish them all the best! Our fingers are crossed for twins! :)

Kieryn anxiously awaits the upcoming football game against KU... she's got her big-girls shoes on in hopes that the Wildcats will STOMP those Chickenhawks!!

Growing Like a Weed!

We couldn't help but take a picture of Kieryn's chocolate mustache. She loves chocolate so now we have to be sneaky if we're having some or she'll only want to eat that....

We did some crafts this week again. She had a lot of fun with the "condiment painting". By the end, her hair and legs were covered in mustard and bbq sauce! We did mayo, ketchup, mustard, and bbq sauce and used sponges to practice stamping. I felt better about this "pain"t... knew it wouldn't make her sick if she tried to put it in her mouth.

We also worked on the word "mask" by making a few from paper plates. I thought it might be a good idea for us to practice and understand "mask" since Halloween is coming up and we'll be going to a party or two... never know what costumes might scare her.

She helped put them together...

and caught on right away that they are meant to cover your face.

Kieryn has been enjoying her evenings with Daddy while I teach fitness swimming. They went on a walk to his work this week and took pictures by the doggie statue. It's nice to have cooler evenings to get outside... you'll notice the hat. GOOD JOB DADDY!

Something fun we made over the weekend... a coloring/drawing station for Kieryn... this way I don't have to worry about crayon on the table or walls. She now has a special spot, designated for coloring, and she loves it.

We went through the animals on the stickers too. Surprisingly, she can point them out pretty quickly. She understands more than we give her credit for... I didn't think she'd get the giraffe and she knew right where it was!

We visited Daddy while he was working at the fitness center. Kieryn knew just what to do with the weights. I think she was excited that it was a pair she could finally lift. She tries really hard with the ones at home, but they're just a little too heavy... I think she's learning her moves from my training sessions.  The whole time she was doing a squat + over head press...and she took a GREAT nap when we got home. I think I know what I'm getting her for Christmas! :)

We love you Kieryn,! You make us so proud already!!

Never a Dull Moment...

On Monday of last week, Kieryn and I made Daddy some cookies. He works so hard and we thought he deserved a nice treat! Kieryn loved helping dump in the ingredients and mix it all up. They were delicious!

Kieryn is still working hard with her spoon. Each day she gets a little better at scooping and putting it in her mouth. She's the best with yogurt, but we've moved on to cottage cheese, applesauce, and rice cereal.

One day while I was doing dishes, I noticed that it got very quiet where Kieryn was playing. I walked around the corner to see that she'd crawled up on the futon and was reading herself a book. It was too cute!

We did bubbles again this week! She had a blast and she learned how to do a bubble beard!

While Steven and I were getting ready on Saturday morning, GAME DAY, I found Kieryn cooking in her little make-shift kitchen. I think she really had fun with the cookies...

Once we were all ready, we took off to tailgate with Grandma & Grandpa Haug.

Kieryn and I went to some yard sales with Grandma H. on Friday and found this AMAZING wagon. It was a steal and it cleaned up VERY nicely (looks like new)! It works great and Kieryn loves it!!

Kieryn's first K-State tailgate! GO WILDCATS!

comparing k-state necklaces...

It was like she knew exactly what to do... a natural at this tailgating stuff...

After visiting their tailgate, we went back home for our own tailgate...Kieryn was all decked in her purple and was very energetic!

It was amazing that she left the headband alone. I loved it!

We had a lot of fun with our fellow tailgaters... even Daniel's mother was cheering on the Kats. She was visiting from Brazil!

We love our Wildcat family!!

It's great being a Wildcat...

Kieryn is wanting to help more... she loves to vacuum with Mommy!

Today we celebrated Lu's birthday at La Fiesta. Kieryn enjoyed all the bright colors and seeing all the people. She really liked trying on the big hat...

GAME DAY! GO STATE!
Kieryn was very excited to watch K-State play on Saturday. She was decked in her purple and was practicing her "touch down" move. I couldn't get a picture of it b/c she doesn't hold her arms up for very long.

Pre-game was spent helping Daddy grade papers. She really enjoys drawing on things... I'll be sure to keep the markers and crayons out of reach unless I can keep a close eye on her... I might end up with scribble on the walls and furniture!

She takes grading very seriously...

GAME TIME! Kieryn watched some of the game in her chair...in between building block towers and hugging her stuffed animals. This was the game from her seat...

My friend from college, Michelle (a fellow dietitian), was in town for the game. She and her parents stopped by with her baby Jackson. He's only 4 months old and he already weighs 18 lbs. When put side by side, the two look close to the same age... geez, Kieryn needs to put on some weight!!

I think they are both working on some teeth... or they were really hungry... it was too cute!

Daddy's little angel!
