HE IS RISEN!

We took a break from the alphabet this week to talk about Easter! It was time to put up the Easter decorations, so what better way than to talk about Easter too!
We began by putting up window clings and making a prayer chain. The prayer chain will help us remember the number of days left until Easter. Each day we tear off a loop and pray for someone in our family or one of our friends. The kids really like this!

On Tuesday, Kieryn practiced her cutting skills and we made a little booklet about the Easter story. Ronan practiced his coloring. He really likes to color!

Then we got on the floor for some counting practice using carrots.

Kieryn did hers all by herself! I was very impressed!

Tuesday was a little warmer so we ventured outside for a while. The kids can't wait for summer... both wanted to practice their casting skills, so we got down the fishing poles!

That night we ate Easter pasta with bunnies and eggs. It turned into the kids playing with the bunnies and making them talk to one another and hop.

After supper we did a jelly bean prayer.

On Wednesday, we began the morning with Resurrection eggs. Each egg told a part of the Easter story, complete with a sweet treat in the final egg to symbolize how sweet it is that Jesus rose from the dead and is alive!

Then we practiced putting chicks and bunnies in the correct size pattern, biggest to smallest and vice/versa.

Kieryn did some patterning, while Ronan practiced coloring some more!

That night we went to Chocolate World!

And Kieryn practiced her alphabet egg match.

On Thursday morning we turned on some music and did the bunny hop with an egg shape match game...

They had to match the shape on the egg and then match the shape to the correct Easter basket... all while doing the bunny hop!

Later that morning we had our friends over for a play date! For dessert we did a peep experiment and watched them "grow' in the microwave! What a mess, but so fun!

On Friday we revisited the jellybean prayer, the resurrection eggs, and then talked about where Jesus went after he rose from the dead...

Then on Saturday morning we ate bunny cinnamon roles! What a sugar filled week, but lots of fun... and I feel like there was lots of learning!

Later on Saturday we went back to Chocolate World. We hadn't been in months and now Kieryn has been begging to go every day! We've been 4 times in the past 2 weeks!

On to the alphabet! Have a great week!

  1. I have heard of Resurrection Eggs. Did you buy the eggs or your creative side is shining again:)
