Simply spectacular!

We had a super week with letter s! We began on Monday with tracing and string shaping to practice our new letter.

Then we did an s workout, complete with actions (skipping, squatting, shuffling, spinning, sitting, and stomping) and emotions (sad, smiling, silly, scared, serious, and surprised). You roll the dice and perform the two together. The kids really had fun with this one!

Then Ronan got a bit silly with his socks!

On Tuesday we did matching with animals that begin with the s sound.

We practiced snipping with our scissors...

And once everything was snipped we practiced sizes and putting things in order small to big and short to tall.

The next thing was to make sock puppets but when I opened the silly socks the kids had more fun sock skating! We saved puppets for later that day!

That afternoon we did straw snipping and used string to make a necklace. We practiced patterning with the necklace.

On Wednesday Kieryn laid claim on my latest crocheted scarf! Now she has two! Maybe my next one will actually "be mine" to wear...

For our lesson we started off making "sugar" cookies... While they baked we did tracing and talked about strangers. Those that are safe (green for "go" to for help) and stay away (red for stop and find Mommy and Daddy).

Sadly we didn't get the 1-3 inches of snow that was forecasted for this day... Would have made the lesson more "sweet" since we talked about snow and all winter things starting with s.

When the cookies were cool, we added some sprinkles!

On Thursday we began with tracing and talked about summer and things in that season starting with s...

We did a quick spider addition/counting sheet and then loaded the kids in the car to drive to a SURPRISE!

We went swimming!! The kids loved it and have asked daily to go back! Luckily Grandma was off work so she got to join in the fun!

On Friday we started with a shape match...

Had a snack while clipping the picture that started with the s sound...

And unscrambled the letters of their names. I was shocked when Ronan did his all by himself!

We ended the lesson with singing! We used spiders to help with a few songs!

We played outside for a short time and did exploring in Grandpa's sheds! The kids are loving the farm life!

Stay Stupendous! Until next time...
