eXcellent week!

This was an eXcellent week! We had a few snow days, but had so much fun playing at home. Monday was the first of the snowdays, so I decided to do a treasure hunt ( X marks the spot). This was sort of a practice run for the Valentine's Day hunt we plan to have... to make sure she knows how to do it! Each clue had a piece of train track in it and the end "treasure" was the rest of the track. We decided that since the weather was going to keep us inside, she would enjoy some new track.

Before starting the hunt, we talked about treasure hunts, maps, etc and watched an episode of Jake and the Neverland pirates... looking for all the Xs we could find.

She did very well finding all the clues!

Tuesday was a "play day". We played with the track, her trampoline, dress up, etc. We also did an X hunt in the house... not many X things...tough one! The weather was bit nicer so later that day we got to play in the snow!

Kieryn loved it, all 9 inches of it! Steven and Kieryn were out playing for about 1 1/2 hours!

Ronan got to play for about 10 minutes too.

On Wednesday we talked about xylophones...

We even made our own. This was a fun project. We painted the xylophone sticks by rolling a golf ball around in a shoe box. Kieryn wasn't interested in it for long though... I think because it wasn't messy enough!

Ronan just tore up the newspaper, so we had to move him to a different sensory activity. He's very good at pulling up the tape!

Kieryn loves her new cupcake pjs if you can't tell from the photos... she wears them ALL the time. On Thursday and Friday we worked on tracing X and we made an x-ray of Kieryn's hand. She liked this activity! After she was finished, she wanted to do Mommy and Ronan too! This is her being silly with tracing...She was ready to do something else...

Kieryn is becoming quite the big sister. I caught her helping him try to crawl.

On Saturday, Ronan got his first haircut! He did very well. We put in a Thomas video and he watched it while Steven cleaned him up. He looks like a new baby!

Until next time...

  1. Love your blog! You should start a small mothers morning out group and share these activities with more children. I think Steven enjoyed the snow as much as Kieryn. The snow was perfect for the fort and snowman!
