Week #3 Copp School

This was the hardest week so far to navigate. We began Monday with the routine we'd been doing for the past two weeks. Then on Tuesday we had "assignment and school supply" pick-up from Woodrow, the big kid's school... so that on Wednesday we could begin doing the assignments that their teachers assigned.

Alexis finished up the alphabet this week! We covered letter Z and had fun involving the big kids in some of the activities...

Kieryn helped with a zebra craft on Monday.

Then all kiddos had fun modeling some Pokemon things out of modeling clay!

Tuesday was gorgeous weather and because picking up supplies from the school somewhat messed with our routine, I decided to make it a kid "play outside day"... and boy did we ever!

At 8am the kids were outside swinging and by 9am we had a fire pit going. We took walks, did bubbles and sidewalk chalk, and more! We had toasted marshmallows for snack!

Alexis had fun helping Daddy care for his newly planted grass...

That evening while Steven taught is class via zoom, I took the kids out to the Pott #2 Lake. They had so much fun!

On Wednesday we kept our "middle of the week" relaxing morning routine...

Our bible lesson was about Matthew 5:13 and being the salt of the earth.

The experiment that went with it was really fun! All the salt in the water made the egg float!

While the big kids did their music lesson, Alexis painted a picture of Elsa from Frozen...We had a really fun music time...

Then, Alexis spent some time investigating a zucchini. We felt it, cut it, examined and dug out the seeds... and then we used it for painting a picture!

She was very good at spotting all the letter "z's" in this word search

For activity time we did a sock throw. Each kid had a pair of rolled up socks and had to hit one of the 6 designated trees. They had to get a total of 20 hits without hitting the same tree twice in a row (this required them to run all over) For the big kids, after 10 hits, they had to try to get hits while running by the tree to make it a little harder! Great workout!

Our normal school spots...

I have discovered that in order to help the big kids for 45 minutes with their work, Alexis needs a craft or activity that she can do while I help. She really likes play dough right now so that has been a big help!

On Thursday, when it was Alexis's turn for a lesson, we talked about zippers and the number 0.

She did a great job tracing!

It took some time, but we finally figured out how to make zero items on the plate!

Ronan helped with zipper practice!

Kieryn enjoyed a shadow drawing of her stuffie...

Later that day we did music time and made drums. We did fast, slow, loud, quiet. We even took turns creating a short tune that others tried to copy. It was fun!

On Friday after the big kids did their school work, they all had fun making a zoo!

It even had a vet clinic for sick animals!

We surprised the kids on Saturday with what we are saying is a family "quarantine" gift!

And EVERYONE has loved it since it's been finished!

Maddie got her first haircut on Saturday! Toby will get his much needed haircut on Sunday  (he looks like a blonde bear in the above picture)!

Have a wonderful week! Until next time!
