Fabulous F Week!

We began letter F week with flies and frogs!

Alexis loved the fly swatter painting in the garage.  It was a little too windy to do it outside. We made sure to use fall colors so I can leave it on the fridge for awhile.

Then we went on a frog hunt! Luckily we've had  a few in our window wells in the past so we knew just where to look.

Alexis loved touching and trying to hold him!

After lunch we did some frog shape matching. We started with shapes we have done with past letters so it seemed familiar...

Then I introduced some new shapes with a flashlight frog hunt! When she found them we had to shine the light on the shape and practice saying its name.

Later we did a frog craft! We matched letter "f" inside his mouth with flies. Each fly had a big F or a little f on it. So we matched them before gluing the flies down. Alexis was very proud of this frog and played with it multiple times during the week

On Tuesday we started the day with french toast! Then we took a field trip after having lunch with the big kids at Woodrow!

Yummy letter F!

We visited the fire department!

Alexis was greeted by three firefighters who showed her the trucks, the equipment, and the fire house! We had a great time!

In the afternoon we took time to do the fire pup book that we received after our firehouse visit.

On Wednesday we talked about the farm! The rainy weather spoiled my plans to visit the farm so on this day we did spend time pretending and singing/dancing to animal songs!

On Thursday we had a very busy day but we made time for some football, fruit, and a craft... making a feather letter F.

On Thursday night Ronan played his cousin in soccer! The boys had so much fun playing against each other.

On Friday we did fun things with fish!

We practiced some counting with our snack... this is still a bit advanced for her... 1,2,3 is about as far as she goes, but we had fun putting fish in the bowl anyways.

She did, however, do very well matching the circles in the bubbles of the F fish!

Again the weather foiled our plans to go fishing but we made due with our fishing game...

And instead we visited the pet store to see all the fish they had!

We saw some that swam Fast and some that swam slow!

On Saturday we had an early morning traveling to Kieryn's volleyball game. Her team is improving so much each week. It was really fun to watch!

She has gotten very good at serving!

Until next time!
