Krazy Kids

Ronan had a rough start to the week as he had a fall on Sunday night. He fell and hit his head on our hard wood floors... instant goose egg! Luckily he showed no symptoms of a concussion... it just looked really bad!

On Monday we began our letter K activities. We began by talking about how we could be kind kids. We even used a kitkat to help us remember that we need to do at least one thing each day that is kind! We made sure to record it each day.

On Tuesday we used kites to help us match shapes, their names, and K/k sorting.

Then we practiced tracing the shapes that make up a kite and the letter K/k

On Wednesday we watched a short video about koalas and then made some fun hand puppets.

While they were drying we made a K out of kisses.

After lunch we colored a kick picture and then headed to the ball field for some kickball. The kids loved it.

On our way to the field, Kieryn dropped to her knees and began praying. I was a little confused... I thought she was looking at something in the grass. When I asked what she was doing she responded, "Praying, because I love God so much." Then she asked Ronan to join and described to him how to do as she was doing... "Ronan, kneel down; fold your hands and close your eyes like this; and say 'Thank you God.'"  He did exactly what she said... I was in shock. Love these kiddos! God is working in our household for sure!!

On Thursday we explored keys. We did a color/number match, made a letter k, and played with locks and keys.

That afternoon we played at the park with friends!

What are the chances that this poor guy would fall into the wall and hit the EXACT same spot! I felt so bad for him! Again, we were blessed that he seemed to show no signs of real head trauma or concussion.. just again, some swelling.

Also on Thursday we celebrated my 32nd birthday. We went out to eat and then opened my gift. The kids and Steven gave me a (much needed) new curling iron set. I sure hope it comes with 15/20 min to actually use it! :)

On Friday morning we visited the dentist for our regular cleaning. Both kids got to sit in the big dentist chair. I was super nervous on how they would do...

BUT THEY BOTH DID AMAZING! I was a happy mama!

When we got home we talked about the kind King Salomon and did a few worksheets to wrap up letter K week.

On Saturday morning we headed to Maryland for a fun weekend with family. The Copp family spoiled me with a great birthday meal, (extra yummy frosting) cake, and gifts. I am so blessed!

Ronan got the first bite...

Thanks again for a wonderful weekend!
We look forward to seeing you all for Thanksgiving! Love you!
Until next time...

Joyous & Jubilant!

We began "J" week making jellyfish. Each tenticle had a letter on it and the kids had to match it to a letter in their name to spell their name on the jellyfish.

We colored a Jake picture too!

We had a special lunch... practiced spreading jelly on crackers!

Then we went outside to play in grape and strawberry jelly! The kids loved it!

On Tuesday we did a jungle activity and practiced following directions using different sizes of jaguars, jackrabbits, and a jeep. Then we practiced tracing and sorting with jellybeans!

On Wednesday morning we went through our children's books... just kept our favorites! WOW, we had a lot!

Then we made some jack-o-lanterns! Later w had friends over for a playdate and we played a jack-o-lantern counting game with them. Super fun!

On Thursday we practiced finding things that were different and did some J/j jumping. We played Jack Be Nimble and practiced putting on our jackets ALL BY OURSELVES!

Thursday was Kieryn's preschool Harvest Party and Ronan and I helped!

After school we made Jack, our jack-o-lantern for the front porch.

On Friday we did shape matching with jewels and practiced gluing with real jewels.

On Saturday we talked about Joshua and Jericho and did an activity with our snack. We marched our teddy grahams around our marshmallow walls seven times. Then we sounded the trumpets and knocked the walls down! The kids loved it.

Of course, we did trick-or-treating and got LOTS of candy! Happy Halloween!
