Now I know my ABCs!

We surprised Kieryn on Monday with a gift for completing her ABCs. She has worked very hard and can name them all. She is very VERY close to matching uppercase with lowercase as well! We will continue to work on this one!

She loved her train alphabet puzzle and Thomas the Train  ABC book.

I decided to make this week a review week. We played lots of games for matching ABCs, we did puzzles and read books. We even incorporated some color sorting and lots of RUNNING into the activities. It is still too cold to play outdoors, so whenever I can incorporate Kieryn running from one end of the house to the other, I DO!

This game was running from the front door to the fridge. She had to first match the letters to the correct spot on the fridge, and then take them from the fridge and sort them back into their correct color groups.

Ronan wanted to help too!

We did this game in the basement. First she had to "fish" out a letter. Then she had to run, skip, hop, etc and find the correct letter on the floor. Great activity! Took like 15-20 minutes and she was worn out by the end!

All this ABC knowledge is giving Kieryn lots of confidence and independence. She thought she should paint her own nails this week...and Mommy's. I was impressed at how good she did!

Ronan continues to get into everything! We got our first permanent baby gate in the mail... probably going to order 3 more soon!

Until next time!

Zippity-do-da! Something to sing about...

This was our final week for alphabet letters! On Monday it got warm enough to go out and play in the snow, so we practiced tracing the letter "Z" in the snow... after sliding and throwing a few snow balls of course! Ronan was napping while Kieryn and I went out. We played for just over an hour!

On Tuesday we tried to wear as many zippers as possible. We practiced zipping and unzipping. We even made some zipper music!

On Wednesday we talked about the zoo and decided to try making our own. So... we first went on an animal hunt through the entire house and gathered our zoo friends.

Then we sorted them into piles so like animals would be in the same pen.

Kieryn wanted her own pen...she can be pretty wild sometimes, so I thought it was a good idea!

On Thursday we practiced our zigging and zagging...

 Kieryn was pretty worn out...

That afternoon, Daddy, Kieryn, and Ronan dropped me at the train station. I spent the rest of the week and weekend in Philadelphia at a fitness conference! I had a blast and learned so much!

While I was away, they had visitors... Grandpop, Grandmom, Uncle Kevin, and Tiana!!

The kids had so much fun! I was sad that I missed it, but Steven kept me updated with pictures and video.

What a wonderful week!

YES- We had a fun week!

This week we covered letter Y! We had lots of fun with yarn, a yo-yo, did a yellow hunt, and watched yodeling videos.

Snow day fun! Kieryn wanted to catch some snow flakes but then she said it was too cold...she enjoys wearing her monkey outfit every now and then... in total we have about 15 inches on the ground in places...hard to tell exact because of drifts.

Ronan turned 8 months on Wednesday! He has begun crawling so we are now rearranging the house and putting up the baby gates...

Valentine's Day fun! Heart French Toast for breakfast..

Thank you Grandpa & Grandma Haug for the Val's Day goodies!!

dancing, cookie making, and we made funny heart glasses...

Heart pizza for supper...

Our Valentine's Day surprise from our guys!

And after supper, we had a Valentine's Day treasure hunt. Kieryn loved it!

We had so much fun! Now we are ready for fishing trips this summer!
