Back to school!!

These kiddos were ready for the start of school! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Haug for giving them their book bags this year!

We started Monday with the alphabet again! Kieryn will most likely not participate in many activities as she will be in school all day, but on occasion that she does I plan to have things for her to work on too!

Letter A bible lesson was about the ark and the animals. We practiced putting the story in order and then matching animal skins.

Ronan traced and Kieryn practiced drawing some words.

Tuesday was the first day of school for Kieryn! Ronan also began his 2x/week preschool with his cousin Micah. Janell and I are each taking a day to teach the letter of the week, thus giving each other a whole day to get other things done! I have the boys on Tuesdays.

1st day of Auntie JAMboree Preschool (J-Janell, A-and, M-Melissa; not settled on this name for sure yet).

My day was apples and aerobics! First we sorted colors...

Then we did A/a matching...

Picked some apples from the backyard tree...

Apple stamped letter a,

Then ate apples! These two have their own language... I was cracking up!

Then we did some aerobics!

And practiced #1!

After picking up the big kids, we treated them to a picnic lunch and ice cream to celebrate the 1st day of school!

That evening we had our first night of gymnastics! Both kids loved it!

On Wednesday we practiced counting and number matching with an alligator...

On Thursday Kieryn got to ride the bus for the first time!

On Friday I took the boys to the library and to the mall to see the fountains!

Later that day we practiced finding big/small, tall/short, and stripes/spots....

Along with cutting, name practice, finding all the same, and flying/pretending with some airplanes!

We spent Saturday at Lake Kahola! It was cold but we still had a blast!

Great way to lead into letter B week with the first boat ride!!

On Sunday we surprised Daddy with a back to school gift since KSU starts next week! We love you Daddy!

Hard to believe that summer is coming to a quick end. We still made it to the pool once last week but with our new schedule it will now be harder! Cheers to a new chapter in our lives... A kindergartner!!
Until next time...

On Monday we played at Anneburg park...

Then sadly said good bye to Tiana. We had so much fun!  We'll miss you Tiana!!

We played with the Caywoods on Tuesday and Wednesday....
On Thursday we got hair cuts...

Then had a pow-wow!

We visited the zoo!

Kieryn starts school this coming week... Can't believe summer has come to an end.
Having a kindergartner... A new chapter begins!

We love having family visit!

Last Saturday we were blessed to have Grandpop Copp and Tiana travel safely from Maryland to Manhattan. Sadly Grandpop's visit was quick. He was here only until Thursday morning, but we made the most of his time with us! Tiana however, was able to stay a bit longer! We kept busy and had lots of fun!!
There were many cousin sleepovers!!

On one of the days we visited the Discovery Center and saw the dinosaur exhibit.

When we were done inside, we went outside and enjoyed the fountains and a picnic lunch!

These kiddos had so much fun playing "family" and pretend!

On Wednesday we got to see Great Graddad and Grandmom Copp. They drove up from Auburn and got to see both our home and the Caywoods. They even got to tour Manhattan, Steven's lab, and Brad's work place. Such a fun day!

Snapped a quick pic of one of the morning sunrises, BEAUTIFUL!

On another of the days we visited the Cinema and saw the Madagascar Penguins movie. The kids loved it!

Tiana is such a good cousin!

On Friday we visited the gymnastics gym in Wamego. The kids had a blast!

Then, in celebration of the opening night of the Olympics, Aunt Janell planned some "Olympic" backyard games.  The kids really took this seriously! There was a balloon slingshot (tried to get your balloon in the middle of a circle on the other side of the lawn).

There were balance beam routines!

And hurdles!

At the end the kids all got chocolate medals and we sang the national anthem. What a fun time! Great idea Aunt Janell!!

The kids even had Olympic torch snacks while watching the opening ceremony!

The next morning we had donuts with the Caywoods to celebrate their amazing run in the "Brew to Shoe" race!

After getting cleaned up we packed a lunch and headed to the zoo for the "Water Safari Day." There were lots of kids activities set up throughout the zoo. It was a lot of fun!

We just love hanging out with cousins!

Until next time!
