Fair Week!

Last Monday, the 19th, Tyson turned 11 months... it's so hard to believe that in one short month he will turn 1 year old!

We made it to the pool about two times last week as our week was filled with fair activities for 4-H. This is now our second year in 4-H but the fair was totally different than last July due to COVID cancelling a lot of fair activities last year.

We had photo judging on Tuesday...

Kieryn received a purple ribbon on the photo on the left but they had to add it later. That photo will appear at the state fair in September! She got a blue on the bird.

Ronan also got a purple on one of his photos, but he has to be 9 years old or older in order for his work (purple ribbon winners) to be entered into the state fair...

Because it was such a busy week we did some seriously fast/athletic cleaning! Alexis took that to heart!

This was the photo that Alexis wanted to enter into the fair...

On Tuesday night we checked out "kid's night" at the Kaw Valley Rodeo!

Kieryn even got in the ring to chase some calves with about 100 other kids!

On one of the days we went exploring and checked out the goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits, cows, and other fun livestock!

Friday was lego creation judging! This was so fun for the kids!

Ronan got a purple and a blue!

Kieryn had a LONG chat with this judge. Apparently legos are not supposed to go to the State fair, but because she had so many interesting structural features this judge thought it needed to make an appearance! We will be sending this lego creation to the fair under the "architectural block construction" category. We are excited to see how she does! She got both purples on her lego creations!

On Friday night we enjoyed some of the carnival rides!

On Saturday the kids had an adventure with Daddy and got donuts!

We went back to the fair to watch the dog show, but it was cancelled due to the heat. We enjoyed some socializing instead!

On Sunday Kieryn and Ronan tried their hand at the pedal tractor pull. It was fun and they both did well!

Until next time! What a fun fair week!!
