An X-treme week!

We covered letter x this week. Tough one... So we did words that have an x in them. We started with tracing...

Then we did a directional activity using a box and a fox. The kids drew a card which said " on top," "under," "inside," etc. The kids then had to put the fox in the correct spot on/in/under the box. They actually liked this one.

Then we did a dance party to "What does the fox say?"

On Tuesday we did tracing, cutting and pasting. This was a good review of things that started with or had an x.

Then we played our xylophone...

And made one too.... The kids loved this one!

On Wednesday we did some tracing...

Watched a video about getting an x-Ray...

And then made our own using hot glue.

On Thursday we did a few worksheets and tracing before packing for another fun weekend.

The kids got to play outside while I finished loading and making lunch.

After lunch we headed to Ft. Leavenworth to visit the Caywoods and the rest of the Copp family who were visiting from Maryland.

We did some exploring down by the Missouri River waterfront...and later went bowling.

On Friday we ventured to Crown Center in KC and did crafts at Kaleidoscope before going to Science City.

On Saturday morning we went to Bernstein Bears Live. The kids loved it and they got a free book!

Afterward we took the older kids to Home Depot for a wood craft. Kieryn had a lot of fun making her heart box!

While we were gone the younger ones played at a park.

We spent the rest of the day outside because it was amazing weather! The kids had so much fun together! It was sad that the weekend had to end!

Thanks Janell and Brad for housing everyone and for all the wonderful food! It was a blast!
Until next time!

Rejoice! He is Risen!

We spent this week talking about the true meaning of Easter and did lots of fun Easter crafts! We began by dying eggs on Monday so we could enjoy them all week!

Then we made "sin rocks" and put them in our baskets. We talked about what sins are and how our sins were and are forgiven thank you to Jesus and his dying for us. The kids had fun gathering and decorating them! On Good Friday, when Jesus died, I switched the sin rocks with all their Easter treats to demonstrate the joy and excitement we should feel when our sins are forgiven.

On Tuesday we did some egg matching...

Read an Easter story...

And then did "resurrection eggs" to help the kids remember the story. They love these! We did them on two more days as well.

Tuesday was the warmest evening of the week so we did egg hunt with Grandma and Grandpa.

On Wednesday we did a tomb craft and talked about Jesus rising from the grave.

Then we did a cross craft. The kids liked the hammering part the most.

That night Kieryn helped Grandpa plant potatoes and onions.

On Thursday we made Easter sugar cookies! YUMMY YUMMY!

While we waited for the first batch to cool the kids did a few Easter fun sheets.

The Grandparents surprised the kids with an Easter basket after Holy Thursday mass.

Then, on Friday we loaded up and headed to Great Wolfe Lodge in KC. It was a mini vacation with the Copp family. Dale, Sandy, Kevin, and Tiana were visiting from Maryland!

Cousin memories!

Thanks again Dale and Sandy for such a special treat! This was a vacation that we all will never forget!

The kids crashed on Saturday night!

On Sunday we ventured to Auburn for Copp family Easter!

There was an egg hunt...

Throwing some rocks and sticks...

And viewing/petting the animals!

We even got to snap a few family pictures!!

What a wonderful Easter!! Thank you Copp family! We love you all so much!
Until next time...
