It'll be a Very Merry Christmas!

We did not do an alphabet letter this week.. Instead, we did a bunch of Christmas/winter activities. We did games and read lots of Christmas books. The kids had a really fun week as we prepared for the holidays!

We began with Christmas cookies on Sunday evening! They were delicious and nice to have all week long!

On Monday we did some winter paintings. Both kids really had fun with this activity!

We also did "build Santa" magnets on the fridge. This lasted for several days!

On Tuesday morning we made Christmas pancakes and used cookie cutters to make different holiday shapes!

Later that morning we played some games... feed the snowman was Kieryn's favorite...

The North Pole ring toss was Ronan's favorite...

Kieryn wanted a challenge so she went up a step after each time she made it.

Later we played trains and dress-up... couldn't resist... it was very hard to take Ronan seriously when he was showing me the cracks in the track...so stinking cute!

That night we built marshmallow snowmen for dessert... and of course, listened to the Frozen  "Do you want to build a snowman" song as we did it!

On Wednesday we played a present memory game. Kieryn played this for a long time...

While Kieryn was at preschool, Ronan enjoyed a gymnastics class...

Then on Thursday morning we awoke to SNOW! Perfect for this week!

Kieryn was so excited that at 7 am she put on her snow pants... I tried to distract her from begging to go out with some snowflake hopping to Christmas music...

and a candy cane fishing game... but they were both short lived because both kids were super excited to go outside!

So by 8:00am we were outside playing in the snow. Surprisingly, both kids were having fun for just over an hour before they complained of the cold...

So we came in and warmed up with some "warm" chocolate and a snack...

and then later a snowman crash game. We used socks as pretend snowballs!

Sadly, that night, both kids were sick with the flu... so we had a very relaxing and slow Friday... Ronan needed both of his friends after such a rough night...

By that evening they were both feeling better so I surprised them with Christmas socks for some pretend ice skating and dancing... which turned into chasing... but fun either way. In these pictures, Ronan is trying to freeze me so I will stop taking pictures... so funny when they both do it!

We are very excited about our upcoming trip to Kansas! The kids and I will be there from 17-22. Kansas here we come!

K is for Kieryn!

This week was letter K! Kieryn practiced writing it several times, along with her name. We read kitten, kite, and kicking books. We colored kangaroos and koalas, as well as tasted kiwi, kale, and kabobs....fun week!

She is getter good at putting the clips in her hair when she wakes up in the morning, couldn't resist taking a pic...

On Tuesday we talked about being a kind kid... and covered some things that she could do for the week that were kind.

Then we played a kite matching game. Ronan had fun too!

I had them close their eyes so I could hand them the next kite... I love seeing Ronan play along!

That evening we shared a Kitkat for dessert!

On Wednesday we talked about King Solomon and watched a few videos... put on crowns and pretended to be kind kings too!

Then we spent a few minutes going through our books and toys. Each of the kids chose three toys or books to donate...

This was our kind act for the day!

That evening we had kisses for dessert... after Kieryn made the letter K of course!

On Thursday we turned on the Christmas tunes and did some karate kicks! We watched a few UTube videos first so see how the pros do it... They loved it, stacking, kicking, and re-stacking... lasted for awhile!

That night we enjoyed kabobs!

On Friday we did our letter K hunt and then practiced some simple spelling with magnetic letters. She is VERY good at her own name!

Over the weekend we found time to make our annual gingerbread TRAIN! The kids loved it! I was surprised that we had any candy left to decorate... the candy was their favorite part!

These two worked together for the finishing touches...

Have a great weekend from our little Mickey and Minnie!
