Lovin' Life!!

This week was "L" week so we talked about lots of things! We talked about love... and because Kieryn loves her locomotives, she made sure they went everywhere with her!

We talked about loving and being gentle with baby brother...he appreciated that! :)

Kieryn got to visit the dentist this week too! She did AMAZING! We read a book about it prior to going and she was wonderful. She had no fear, knew to sit still, and was excited about the surprise that came afterwards for sitting so still - Harold the Helicopter. Of course, we looked for the "L" in both of those words!

We made little lambs and sang a song:
Kieryn had a little lamb, ..., its fleece was white as snow.
It followed her to the library, the library, the library,
It followed her to the library because it loved to learn.
She really enjoyed this and we sang it multiple days!

We went on leaf hunts...

We painted a lobster... Ronan wanted to watch!

And we tried some foods that began with L...lime

lettuce... which she liked because she dipped it in syrup.

What a lovely week! Until next time!

KAN life get any sweeter?!?

Ronan started off "K" week cheering for his Kansas City Chiefs and relaxing on his KSU blanket. He's having just as much fun with the letter activities as Kieryn... or at least it feels that way... he's wanting to be held more so he can see what we're doing.

We worked a lot with Kieryn's name this week and by the end of the week she was introducing herself to every kid on the playground. It is super cute to here her say "Hi, my name is Kieryn."
One evening we had a King tea party. So, we made our crowns first and then got dressed up. Both kids had a fun time!

After the tea party, Kieryn was back to her trains!

On one of the days last week, we visited Kieryn's friends, "the singing cows" at Chocolate world... because kisses are one of her favorite treats. She calls them "purple chocolates" because I get the dark chocolate kisses. She had so much fun!

Got our pumpkins picked out! We'll do some carving soon!!

Our future K-Stater!

We did lots of fun K activities this week... letter K with keys...

enjoyed kiwi for snacks (kinda sour at first, but she liked it)...

did kite matching...
(I wanted to do kite flying but it never really worked out...sort of a colder/rainy week)

and painting!

Kieryn's cousin Tiana visited over the weekend and the two girls played so well together. They colored, had a huge tea party in the basement, visited Chocolate world AGAIN, and played outside! By the end of the visit, Kieryn was wanting to do everything that her cousin Tiana did. It was so cute!

Over the weekend, Kieryn got to dress up as the KSU Willie! She had so much fun scaring us. She was hiding all over the house! Here she is showing off her KSU muscles!

It's hard to believe, but our little man is 4 months old!

On Saturday, Steven's parents and Tiana visited us to celebrate Steven's birthday. We had so much fun, and some wonderful food. Thank you to them for helping make Steven's day special! Happy Birthday Daddy! We love you so much!

"Jolly" good week!

Monday morning began with us trying some jelly. Kieryn has never had it on her toast before and needless to say... she DID NOT like it! :)

We also tried jello for the first time this week... She didn't really eat any of it, just squeezed it and then wanted her hands washed off. By the end of the week she was licking her fingers and saying "umm," but I don't think she really liked it.

We did LOTS of jumping this week! She loved the jumping song we found on Youtube and the jumping games we played... but as always, her favorite place to jump was at gymnastics!

Ronan enjoyed some playing too!

Kieryn's favorite "J" activity this week was making jelly bean J's. I spread it out to three days, but over the weekend she was asking to do more. She's got quite the sweet tooth!

This was the first week she showed interest in tracing the letter. I think it was because we talked about how "j" has a hook on the bottom like James Hook from Jake and the Neverland Pirates... she was so excited that she could draw a J!

Over the weekend we did a felt sticker jack-o-lantern.  No actual pumpkin carving yet, but we will soon!

We have been getting outdoors in the afternoons which is nice. It's still 80 degrees here with lots of sun!

Kieryn and her collection of trains. She's really loving Thomas and Friends!

Until next time!
