Unbelievable Letter U!

This week we covered letter U! Vowels are sometimes difficult but we tried to find things that both started with U but also had U in the word. Since Paw Patrol is popular in our household right now I had Rubble on the tracing sheet!

Then we did an "up" experiment. Using baking soda and vinegar we watched the balloon inflate or "blow up" when we mixed the two! Ronan loved it!

On Tuesday Ronan and Micah began the lesson by sending their cars "under" a chair tunnel...

We did shape matching with umbrellas...

Then we made an umbrella...first we colored with permanent marker...

Then we dropped rubbing alcohol to make the colors run together...

We dried them... Then added a Popsicle stick. Very fun!

Then we did a U toss into an umbrella...

We finished with tracing.

On Tuesday night we attended Kieryn's art fair and got to have yummy ice cream!

On Wednesday the boys did U tracing at Micah's house. They also spent time talking about a map of the US.  Janell had them find & color states that they have lived and visited on vacations. Ronan can say "United States of America" very well now!

On Thursday Kieryn was not feeling well so she stayed home and wanted to participate in the lesson...we talked about umpires and practiced counting and number recognition.

I gave Kieryn addition...

We did a unicorn puzzle together...

On Friday we talked about things that go "up". We also talked about standing up for what is right!

Then we went outside and flew kites to see who could get theirs "up" high!

On Sunday Kieryn lost her second tooth! Growing up too fast!

What an unforgettable week! Until next time!

Tremendously Terrific letter T Week!

We had a terrific letter T week! We began our week with Ronan's favorite "t" word... TRAINS! We did his favorite train, Thomas! We did tracing...

We matched engines to their tenders...

And of course we pretended on the train tracks!

Then we ventured to the Discovery Center to play more trains...

And Ronan liked the tunnel slide!

That afternoon we did Thomas puzzles...

Daddy even helped with one after supper!

On Tuesday the boys did name practice using triangles...

We traced letter T...

And then talked about trees and how the leaves change with the seasons. We finished by making trees that matched the season.

It was so nice outside so we rode tricycles...

The boys helped me plant some seeds...

And later the boys made a tunnel for their cars!

On Wednesday Ronan went to Janell's for preschool. They played with tambourines and traced T!

On Thursday we began our lesson with "tag" in the house....followed by tickling and tackling! Ronan's favorite was the tackling! We had to play it again that night and on Friday!

After lunch we did a worksheet to listen to word sounds and circle the things when that Ronan heard a "t" in the item name. He did great with this!

We did a number match using "time" numbers. We also found those numbers that begin with T.

Finally we painted using a toothbrush. We sang our brushing song and tried to scrub the whole tooth!

On Friday Ronan and I went to Kieryn's school for donuts to celebrate "morning with mom."

Clifford was at the book fair!

Afterwards Ronan and I checked out the tunnel slide at McDonalds...

That afternoon we reviewed the animals that started with Letter T... We practiced categorizing them by size...

Then put them in order by size...

We practiced drawing stripes..,

And finished with work in his Thomas workbook. Ronan wanted to find all the letter Ts.

We ended the day with a fun tent for Kieryn and Ronan to play in!

Over the weekend I had fun in Wichita with Kaylee (future sister-in-law) shopping for a wedding dress! While I was there Steven had a fun day with the kids! They went to Varsity Donuts, his lab, and then the Caywoods! They ended the day at the movie theater watching "Trolls". Great way to end T week!

Fun week!

We started the week with more Valentine's Day crafts... I made a wreath over the weekend. The kids painted wine cork hearts!

On Monday night we had heart pasta and our favorite meatballs for supper. We then did our Valentine's Day scavenger hunt!

On Tuesday morning we had heart cinnamon rolls... And we said our goodbyes to Daddy. He was headed to Houston. He is on the Trainee Advisory Committee for the American Physiological Society. It was the strategic planning meeting for the whole society. He was there Tuesday until Friday.

I had Micah and Gavin on Tuesday. We made some awesome train tracks! No lesson this week!

That afternoon we helped at Kieryn's Valentine's Day party. I was in charge of games and the craft. I had them make love bug hats, do candy heat stacking, spoon races, and a heart bean bag toss. They had a great time and lots of sugar!

On Wednesday I worked at the gym. That night after picking Kieryn up from school we ventured to Seneca for a Rosary for my Grandpa who passed away on Monday. We stayed for the funeral on Thursday as well. Rest in peace Grandpa, you will be missed!

We were outside most of the day on Friday to enjoy the 70 degree weather! We spent the morning at the park...

Afternoon at the zoo...

And evening at Anneburg!

We spent the weekend outside as well! We were able to get the garage organized and a lot of outside work done! What beautiful weather are having!!

Until next time!
